Ontario Building Code Updates
The Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing announced the release of the 2024 Ontario Building Code (OBC) in April 2024. With the structure of the new OBC regulation harmonizing with the 2020 National Building Code of Canada (NBC), this session will provide an overview of the new Part 3 requirements and significant changes that will come into effect on January 1, 2025. This session will benefit practitioners with working knowledge of the OBC.

Our Presenter
Lisa Miller-Way is a Director with CHM Fire Consultants Ltd. with over 20 years of experience in fire protection engineering, Building and Fire Code consulting, and Accessibility. Regularly engaged by engineers, architects, interior designers, and developers, her experience spans all sectors inclusive of complex building, hospitals/healthcare, warehouse, commercial and residential facilities. Lisa is routinely involved in highly complex projects, which often require the development of Alternative Solutions to address design challenges showcasing her ability to adapt her knowledge to different project requirements. Lisa frequently engages the engineering and design community through various lectures and public speaking events.
